Curriculum Connections

Incorporating the Arts into the Curriculum is at the center of the Division of Creative Arts Tri-C Presents.  Through Division wide interdisciplinary projects, free and discounted tickets, performance guides and events with professional artists – Tri-C Presents gives college faculty and area teachers the support they need to engage students in life-long learning.

An integrated approach to education with a strong foundation in the Arts is vital to our community. We’ve seen evidence that giving students the opportunity to view live performances of professional artists and then complete related assignments increases classroom engagement. Participation in the arts opens up their worlds and minds and offers them the skills they need for a bright future. What are some of the reasons that the performing arts are important to your educational experience?

1. Builds appreciation for the arts as an important part of our culture

2. Enhances creative skills and instincts and heightens the senses

3. Develops basic artistic methods, concepts, tools and state-of-the-art techniques

4. Increases ability to observe, organize, and effectively solve problems

5. Develops specific skills and attributes such as motor skills, hand-eye coordination, inductive reasoning and organizational skills

6. Improves communication skills

7. Teaches disciplined work habits

These are just a few of the positive results shown from studying and experiencing the performing arts. Enrich your life and come check out an event at Tri-C Presents!
